New Tilt/Tracking Technology

Our proprietary hydrostatic system of controlled buoyancy tanks (”Xfloat Controlled Buoyancy”, or “XCB”), arranged in a grid of connected vessels, controls the rotation of the PV tracking tables in unison, by +/- 60 degrees on a single axis.
The system uses no motors or hydraulics. Instead of using gears to tilt the PV panels, it uses a flexible, hydrostatic positioning mechanism. XCB damps and absorbs the powerful external forces exerted on the array, and controls aeroelastic instabilities.

XF Control System and Machine Learning

Our Intelligent Water Management system controls the water loads and pumps of the buoyancy array, for precise tilting and tracking. Data collected from sensors throughout the array is channeled to a knowledge-based machine learning process for predictive PV performance and O&M. Dedicated SCADA & optimization tools stream data from all global installations to improve the tracking and O&M algorithms.

Our innovative buoy design is optimized for static and dynamic strength, and enjoys all the benefits of HDPE injection molding. It has fewer parts than other buoys of similar capacity, is easy to install, and it can be stacked for shipment and storage, creating a smaller freight footprint and lower costs.
