We’re honored to share that Xfloat was featured in a recent video by the Israel Innovation Authority, showcasing our contribution to climate tech innovation.
The global climate crisis presents enormous challenges for ensuring safe, sustainable supply in the key areas of water, food, and electricity. Innovative, scalable solutions are urgently needed, both for mitigating the environmental causes of climate change (such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions), and for adapting the supply and conservation of these crucial resources to harsher, less hospitable conditions.
Floating Photovoltaic (FPV) systems are a prime example of both mitigation and adaptation. By harnessing the vast potential of solar energy on water surfaces, FPV solutions:
– help reduce reliance on fossil fuels and thus lower greenhouse gas emissions;
– help maximize carbon-free energy production without occupying valuable land;
– reduce water evaporation, which is particularly important in drought-ridden areas;
– use water bodies to produce clean energy without interfering in their ‘primary’ function (e.g., water treatment, irrigation) and in a way that complements existing energy infrastructure (such as hydro-FPV hybrids).
